Building Forward was conceived as we came to understand the synergy of our combined skill sets, goals, and backgrounds. The business successes results from combining Jeremy’s passion, knowledge, and experience for all aspects of construction, with Max’s desire to entrepreneur and manage a sustainable small business, and their mutual work ethic and interest in the field of green building. Max is a 28 year old entrepreneur with a passion for architecture, design and sustainability. He was born and raised in Kodiak, Alaska until his family moved to Oregon in 1996. He studied natural science, drafting and architecture in college and has done graduate work in real estate development and business. He has worked in the construction industry as a laborer, designer, and project manager for a small Portland investment and re-modeling company, and as a drafter at a local design firm.

Jeremy grew up on the southern Oregon coast in Brookings. His grandfather, a life-long carpenter, taught him the trade of carpentry and fine wood working beginning at an early age. Over the past decade in the Portland area, Jeremy’s experience in the field has been vast, ranging from shower glass installation, framing, finish carpentry, extensive tile work, to the lead contractor for another local remodeling business.
